About Ultra Violette

Founded in 2019, Ultra Violette is an Australian skincare brand redefining SPF with its cult favourite ‘Skinscreens’ – formulas that combine sun protection with skin-loving ingredients. Since launch, the brand has scaled rapidly across both direct-to-consumer and wholesale channels, expanding into markets including the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia, Canada and the US. With a team of 30, five global warehouses and multiple Shopify sites, Ultra Violette now operates as a global omnichannel business backed by a high-growth, high-performance tech stack.

We knew NetSuite was the right system for us - and Annexa the right partner. They’d worked with businesses like ours before and knew how to set up global fulfilment and co-manufacturing flows from Australia. That gave us real confidence we’d get it right.

the challenge

Growing fast, slowed by systems

Ultra Violette’s early growth was powered by Shopify, Xero and Cin7 (formerly DEAR Systems). But as the brand expanded into new global markets, the tech stack began to show its limits. Multiple subsidiaries were running on separate instances of accounting and inventory software, with disjointed 3PL and eCommerce integrations and heavy reliance on Excel for consolidation and reporting.

Key operational tasks like batch-level inventory tracking, intercompany transactions and financial reporting across AU and UK were either manual, delayed or not possible. As the team firmed up plans to enter North America in 2024, it became clear the existing architecture wouldn’t scale.

We had limited integrations with our warehouses, which made it difficult to get inventory visibility and required more people power. In 2023 we did a capital raise, and bringing all the information from all of the systems together for prospective investors was a lot of work - it really showed something needed to change. And with our US launch becoming more real, we knew we had to get our systems ready before we started that journey.

Global growth with tech that scales

Supported by Annexa, Ultra Violette replatformed its operations across five global markets in just six months. This included consolidating four Shopify sites, four 3PL partners, multiple inventory locations and regional entities, into a single, integrated tech stack.

Annexa implemented NetSuite OneWorld to unify financials, inventory, and operations across AU, UK, US, CA and SEA. Complexities like multi-currency reporting, intercompany stock transfers, batch-level inventory tracking and compliance requirements across regions are now managed centrally in NetSuite, replacing spreadsheets and disconnected systems.

Through Celigo iPaaS, Annexa integrated NetSuite with Ultra Violette’s full ecosystem – Shopify, EDI trading partners (like SPS Commerce), 3PLs and production partners. This has streamlined fulfilment, automated order flows and delivered near real-time visibility into inventory and sales across markets.

Jane explained, “We went live with four warehouses at the same time, and it was a huge lift. We had weekly calls with Annexa and our warehouses to make sure we hit the right level of detail – and we did.”

Today, finance and ops teams are working from a more connected system of record, with real-time reporting segmented by region, department and channel. Reconciliation is faster, inventory costing is more accurate and cross-team access to data has improved dramatically. With streamlined integrations across Shopify, 3PLs and EDI, Ultra Violette can now scale into new markets or launch new partners without adding operational load.

Annexa had people on the ground in Australia. We’re also working closely with the Brisbane team now, and those relationships have been fantastic. They really helped us get to the level of detail we needed to nail the implementation.
