About T2
T2 opened their first boutique tea store in Fitzroy, Melbourne, in 1995 with a passion for reimagining the humble tea leaf. Three decades on, they are a global lifestyle brand selling across retail, wholesale, eCommerce and travel retail channels – supplying their fruit-flavoured teas and infusions to stores, hotels and restaurants around the world.
That growth has brought constant evolution across markets, channels and ways of operating. In recent years, T2 has refined its strategy, placing greater emphasis on wholesale and global eCommerce while streamlining its retail footprint.
At the centre of this shift is a clear focus on simplicity. T2 is committed to building a technology ecosystem that is flexible, connected and aligned to long-term growth, without adding unnecessary complexity.
The fact that Annexa has been our NetSuite partner for longer than I've been around means they hold a lot of IP with our systems and a deep knowledge of what we do and how we do it. Some of the team have been on our account for a long time - they're always the source of history - and that extended knowledge allows them to provide solutions we simply wouldn't get otherwise.Clinton RiceHead of Technology, T2
the challenge
Growth at scale demands a simpler, more connected foundation
T2 first partnered with Annexa in 2015, deploying NetSuite as the core of their enterprise architecture across retail, wholesale and ecommerce. That foundation gave the business a unified platform to scale from – and as T2 has grown and shifted its strategy over the past decade, it has remained the stable centre of an increasingly connected ecosystem.
As the business model evolved, so too did the demands on that ecosystem. Growth in wholesale and global ecommerce introduced new complexities, particularly around fulfilment, inventory visibility and managing operations across multiple regions. Enabling global fulfilment through the ecommerce platform meant handling currencies, taxes, duties and delivery requirements for different countries – without adding operational overhead.
At the same time, T2 was working towards a more unified commerce experience. Customers increasingly expect to interact with brands seamlessly across channels, whether ordering online, collecting in store or accessing the full product range from any location. Supporting this required accurate, real-time inventory data and a consistent source of truth across systems – especially during peak trading periods. Alongside this, T2 had a clear strategic mandate under new ownership to simplify the technology landscape, reduce complexity across systems and integrations, and create the headroom to innovate and grow.

the results
A leaner stack, stronger data and a platform built for what’s next
With NetSuite at the core and a decade of shared context with Annexa, T2 has been able to evolve its technology environment without disruption. Rather than replacing what works, the focus has been on simplifying the architecture around it – improving integrations, reducing complexity and ensuring data flows consistently across ecommerce, wholesale and retail channels.
The most tangible gain has been inventory integrity. By tightening the timing and flow of data between the distribution centre, POS and web platform, T2 now has far greater confidence in stock accuracy across all channels – including during peak periods like Christmas, where the stakes are highest. The move to Shopify Plus has added flexibility on the ecommerce side, enabling T2 to launch new capabilities like tea subscriptions quickly, without the development overhead that would have previously made that impractical.
“NetSuite remains the stable middle ground – it’s the core of our ecosystem, receiving all the inputs and handling data as it moves through to our disparate systems. That’s what gives us functional integrity across the business.”
– Clinton Rice, Head of Technology, T2
Looking ahead, T2 is progressing towards a true omnichannel model – with NetSuite as the inventory source of truth enabling endless aisle, ship-from-store and order-anywhere experiences. Financial reconciliation has been largely automated, freeing up meaningful time for the finance team. And as T2 builds out its data and AI capability through a dedicated Centre of Excellence, the clean and connected architecture that NetSuite provides is increasingly important – giving the data foundations needed to pursue AI initiatives across the business.
I've had a great relationship with Annexa - they're very organised with the number of small things we give them and very structured in the bigger projects. We have a good cadence to control all the tasks and projects, and as requirements change, they move with that. In my time, they've provided the ability to grow and retract as we need - they'll keep it tight when we want it tight, but they'll expand their resourcing when required for larger projects.Clinton RiceHead of Technology, T2
