Early April 2026, Annexa and Oracle NetSuite brought together finance leaders from across Australia and New Zealand for a live session on what AI in finance actually looks like right now – in working systems, real workflows and tools you can use today.
The session ran through three layers of AI capability, from embedded NetSuite features through to agentic workflows and what’s coming next with NetSuite Next. If you missed it or want to revisit a specific section, all the key clips are below. You can also watch the full webinar on demand here.
Demo: Narrative Insights in NetSuite
The session opened with a look at Narrative Insights, one of NetSuite’s native AI features available now in the platform. Rather than exporting a report to analyse it elsewhere, Narrative Insights generates natural language summaries directly from NetSuite records – AR aging, backorder reports, customer profiles and more.
The demo showed how a single click can surface key risks, flag heavily impacted customers and generate recommendations without leaving the system.
Demo: NetSuite AI Connector
The next section covered NetSuite’s AI Connector Service, which uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to give AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT a secure, governed connection into your NetSuite environment.
We demonstrated two scenarios – an expense analysis that pulled live financial data, identified trends and produced a branded PowerPoint deck ready to present internally – and an upsell workflow that scanned for dormant customers, suggested pitches and created follow-up tasks and opportunities directly in NetSuite. You can learn more about the NetSuite AI Connector here.
Demo: Erstan – an agentic AI platform by Annexa for NetSuite
Next up, we introduced Erstan, Annexa’s purpose-built agentic AI platform for NetSuite, currently in beta. Where the AI Connector involves a human guiding each step, Erstan takes on the full workflow – pulling data, running checks, preparing outputs and flagging for approval – all within predefined business rules and a full audit trail.
We demonstrated two agents – the 13-week cashflow forecasting agent runs five or six NetSuite reports, assembles the analysis, reconciles the numbers and produces a fully editable output document. The AP automation agent reviews an uploaded bill, matches the vendor, runs PO and duplicate checks, creates the bill record and flags it for approval, with every step tracked back to the original document. At the time of writing, Erstan is in beta – sign up for Erstan’s launch here.
Demo: NetSuite Next
Next we covered NetSuite Next – Oracle’s next generation of the platform, with AI embedded at the core. The centrepiece is Ask Oracle, a natural language assistant that lets you search, navigate, analyse and act across your entire NetSuite dataset in your own words.
The demos showed Ask Oracle surfacing context-aware responses based on who’s asking and what record they’re on – a CFO asking about open POs gets financial insight; a warehouse manager asking the same question gets inventory detail. The second part showed how a conversational query can generate a dynamic, shareable dashboard directly inside the system.
Key insights from the panel
Beyond the demos, the session closed with an open conversation about what finance leaders should actually be doing right now. We covered three themes – how the finance role is shifting from doing to reviewing as AI takes on more of the analytical work, why starting small with a single, measurable use case beats waiting for a perfect AI strategy, and why the most useful framing for AI adoption is outcome-first – identifying a business problem before reaching for a technology solution.
If the session raised questions about where to start or what’s relevant to your environment, the full webinar covers all of this in detail – including the live demos and Q&A. Watch the full webinar on demand here.
