NetSuite 2026.1 is now rolling out across ANZ environments, with availability expanding across accounts, and we recently hosted a webinar breaking down the most important updates for finance, operations and technical teams.
Since then, NetSuite has released an additional set of enhancements through a March update cycle that impacts Australia and New Zealand businesses. This sits outside the usual cadence and reflects the startling pace at which AI capabilities are being introduced across the platform.
These latest updates build on several of the themes we covered, with a clear focus on AI-driven insights and improved workflow visibility.
Below, we highlight the most relevant additions and where they may have impact across your NetSuite environment.

Narrative insights expanding across the platform
One of the more important additions is the continued rollout of Narrative Insights across multiple NetSuite modules, reports and records.
Narrative Insights uses generative AI to produce structured summaries directly within NetSuite, highlighting trends, anomalies, risks and data gaps based on the dataset being viewed. Rather than reviewing reports line by line, users can generate an explanation of what is happening and where attention is required.
Key capabilities
- Narrative Insights can now be generated directly within supported reports and records
- Summaries adapt based on the data and report type, highlighting key drivers and changes
- Available across all NetSuite regions and supported system languages
- Controlled through a new Narrative Insights subtab within AI Preferences, enabled by default
Payment date prediction for invoices
The March update introduces AI-driven payment date prediction directly within invoices, using historical payment behaviour to estimate when customers are likely to pay.
This provides finance teams with earlier visibility into expected cash timing at a transaction level, supporting more accurate short-term cash forecasting and collections planning.
Key capabilities
- Predicted payment date generated based on historical customer behaviour
- Predicted overdue days highlight expected delays beyond due date
- Visibility available directly within invoice records and transaction lists
- Predictions update automatically as new payment data is recorded
- Optional manual override allows teams to capture known payment commitments
Intelligent close manager dashboard portlet
The March update introduces the Intelligent Close Manager dashboard portlet, providing a centralised view of close activity, transaction volume and exceptions. The portlet brings together outstanding tasks, KPIs and exception signals across core areas such as A/R, A/P and accounting, using transaction activity to reflect close progress in real time.
Key capabilities
- Centralised view of close tasks, transaction amounts and exceptions
- KPI tracking including largest outstanding task, exceptions and potential variance
- AI-generated insights highlighting trends and emerging risks
- Filtering by period and subsidiary for targeted visibility
- Direct access to investigate and resolve tasks and exceptions
The portlet is automatically populated based on transaction activity and enabled features, with no additional configuration required.
SuiteCloud developer assistant
The March update introduces the SuiteCloud Developer Assistant, an AI-powered coding assistant designed to support NetSuite development and customisation.
Integrated into Visual Studio Code, the assistant provides context-aware support for SuiteScript and SuiteCloud projects, helping developers generate code, build custom objects and accelerate development workflows.
Key capabilities
- Real-time, context-aware coding assistance within SuiteCloud projects
- Generates SuiteScript 2.1 code based on prompts
- Supports creation and management of XML custom objects
- Works within existing Visual Studio Code environments
- Requires user approval before applying suggested changes
Text enhance user experience updates
The March update introduces a redesigned Text Enhance experience, making AI-assisted text actions more visible and easier to use directly within fields.
Key capabilities
- New in-field button replaces the previous menu, improving visibility of AI actions
- One-click access to default actions such as Generate or Clean up
- Dropdown provides additional options including Make shorter, Make longer and Translate
- Supports both standard and custom Text Enhance actions
Other March 2026 updates of note
- Unlimited sandbox refreshes improve flexibility for testing and deployment
